Privacy Policy
Limited Use
InboxWorkbench follows Google's Limited Use requirements for data received from Google APIs.
InboxWorkbench Privacy Policy (English)
Last updated: October 6, 2026. This policy describes the current read-only version of the InboxWorkbench macOS application. Contact the operator at dinghao361@gmail.com for privacy or support questions.
Google user data we access and its purpose
After you authorize the app through Google's OAuth consent screen, InboxWorkbench uses the Gmail read-only permission to access your email address, mailbox message count, message and thread identifiers, email headers, dates, estimated sizes, labels, and attachment indicators derived from MIME file-name metadata. Email headers may include sender, recipient and reply addresses and subjects. The app retains only the sender address and display name and the subject for its message list; other headers are discarded after parsing. These data power the visible email list, sender summaries, search, filters, size estimates, and links that open the corresponding thread in Gmail. The app does not download email bodies or attachment contents, request your Google password, send emails, or modify real messages.
Storage, retention and sharing
Real Gmail indexes and the connected email address are kept only in local process memory and cleared when you sign out, switch accounts, or close the application. OAuth credentials and the desktop client configuration are stored in your local macOS Keychain. Signing out deletes the app's saved login credentials while retaining the client configuration and protection preferences. Sample emails and sample cleanup records are fictional and stored in a separate local demo database. Protection preferences are stored in Keychain.
The app communicates directly with Google's OAuth and Gmail APIs. No InboxWorkbench backend receives your Gmail messages, indexes or login tokens. The app does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or credit decisions, send it to third-party analytics services, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Developers cannot remotely read your email through this app. InboxWorkbench follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your controls and policy changes
Signing out clears the current list and saved local login credentials. It does not sign you out of Google in your browser or revoke Google's saved authorization. You may revoke InboxWorkbench's access from Google Account connections. Contact support for instructions to remove retained local configuration or preferences; uninstalling the app may not delete Keychain entries. Before introducing message modification, persistent Gmail storage, or other data uses, we will update this policy and request additional authorization when needed.
